I am so excited about these new handbags and proud of myself for taking a chance on working with wool for the first time! These bags are made with genuine Harris tweed from Scotland, 100% virgin wall, and very highly regulated for quality and origination. And it feels amazing to the touch as well as having gorgeous color combinations!

The history behind the bag shape started two years ago when I was making quilted improv panels and creating bags around the finished pieces. I had made myself a handbag of the same shape and dimensions, which was very odd for me since I am normally a large tote bag person or always wanting a shoulder strap or crossbody. But I have used mine daily for two straight years and I have to tell you I love it so much! It holds so much more than it looks like it would, it fits easily into bigger bags if needed, and it is just so handy and easy when getting into the car to just set it on the seat next to me instead of struggling with a crossbody strap after I've sat down! So easy to carry, and with the canvas bottoms these bags can be used on a daily basis or you could save it for special occasions.

They stand about 10 inches tall, and finished between 10 1/2 and 11 inches wide. The base of the bag is 3 inches wide. The drop of the straps is about 5 inches, and the zippers measure about 14 inches long and are covered with cork attached with rivets. The zipper overhangs to allow for the bag to open up wide. The feature fabric is the Harris tweed, the base is made from big Sur canvas, straps are leather, and the lining and interior slip pocket are made with a cream brushed linen. There is both fusible fleece as well as interfacing on the lining to add some structure but they still are flexible to touch. Spot clean only, do not wash wool.
